Some stuff from my earlier blogging attempts:
CONSTANT DRAMA OF LIFE
When I was asked to write an article about some unusual experience I had, I was, to be frank, completely at a loss for words. Pitying myself for my mundane existence, I lay awake thinking, and the lyrics of a famous rock song came to mind-
Everything’s so blurry and everyone’s so fake,
Everybody’s changing and everything is so messed up.
These words seem to capture, at times, exactly what I feel; and I know I’m not alone. So I decided, instead of writing about one particular incident, I shall try to write about something that creates constant drama in OUR lives, not just mine.
Every teenager chases elusive happiness, yearns for universal acceptance and wants to be a part of the cool crowd. How many times have you felt at the end of what seemed like a thin rope? How many times have you cried yourself to sleep wondering - what if – and - if only?
We see faces every hour of the day and often we choose to disregard them. The class loner with lots to think about, yet little to say, the Miss Popular, or even the class nerd with the brain you envy - if we just overlooked the exterior and reached in to discover their surprising interior, we might find our mirror image.
How many times has a cruel joke brought a quiver to the lips and was replaced by a smile so as not to be called a crybaby? How many times has a nasty remark brought dampness to an eye, quickly replaced by a put up defense or a promise to avenge?
It is these things we overlook that fail to make us complete. It is these things that we do, or do not do, that determine the role we play in life’s constant drama.
